BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's and women's swimming and diving teams return to the pool for another busy week of racing. The team will kick things off tonight in a tri-meet with Pitt-Bradford and Wells College before traveling to Cortland on Friday for a tri-meet with the Red Dragons and New Paltz.

Breaking Down The Bengal Men:

• The men's team enters today with a record of 3-7 on the year.
• Last time out, the men's side earned a win against Medaille (83-40) but fell to the Oswego Lakers (133.50-53.50) in a tri-meet.
• Sean Mahaney (Alden, NY/Alden) picked up two individual wins in the 200 free and 100 fly on Saturday to earn himself Bengal Athlete of the Week.
• Chris Signore (Buffalo, NY/Canisius) and Matt Banks (Lancaster, NY/St. Joe's) also earned individual wins in the effort.

 
Breaking Down The Bengal Women:

• The women's team enters today with a record of 4-6 on the year after picking up a 150-23 win against Medaille, and a crucial 103-95 win over Oswego.
• Hannah Heil (Medina, NY/Medina) and Maggie Parobek (Amherst, NY/Amherst) were both double winners in the victories.
• The breaststroke duo of Maggie Bilquin (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) and Lindsay DeBoth (Amherst, NY/Amherst) finished first and third, respectively, in the 100 breast to secure the victory over Oswego.

 
Assessing The Competition:

• Coming into tonight, the Bengal men are 10-2-1 all-time against Pitt-Bradford and are 10-0 against Wells College.
• The Bengal women are 12-1 against Pitt-Bradford and 10-0 against Wells College.
• For Saturday, the Bengal men are 0-14 all-time against Cortland and will face New Paltz head-to-head for the first time.
• For the Bengal women, the team is 0-13 all-time against Cortland and will also see New Paltz head-to-head for the first time.
