SYRACUSE, NY – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its softball all-conference teams today, with four Buffalo State players being recognized.
Sarah Congelosi (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) and
Caitlyn Parsons (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) were selected to the first team, while
Sydney Bielicki (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) and
Kayla Wolinski (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) were honored on the second team.
Congelosi receives her second SUNYAC All-Conference selection in as many years, and bumps up to the first team after being named to the second team in 2022. The sophomore shortstop finished the season with a .391 batting average, third on the team. She also scored 25 runs, drove in 16 runs, and stole a team-high 20 bases, also the second-most stolen bases in the SUNYAC.
Parsons earns her first all-conference selection by hitting .400 with seven doubles, two home runs, and 25 RBIs. She was one of just ten players in the conference to hit .400 or better for the season, and recorded at least one hit in 26 of 34 games played, including 11 multi-hit games.
Bielicki also is honored on an all-conference team for the first time. The second baseman batted .424 for the year, leading the team and third in the SUNYAC. She also recorded 53 hits, including seven doubles, three triples, and a home run, drove in 31 runs, scored 30 runs.
Wolinski is a SUNYAC All-Conference selection for the second year in a row, also being named to the second team in 2022. She batted .384 for the year, and led Buffalo State with 12 doubles, 33 RBIs, and 32 runs scored. The third baseman recorded a team-high 16 multi-hit games during the season.
