Acrobatics and Tumbling Set for First Road Meet

The Buffalo State acrobatics and tumbling team competes on the road for the first time in program history on Sunday afternoon, taking on Notre Dame College at 3 pm.

EYES ON THE BENGALS
  • Buffalo State enters with an 0-1 record after falling to Trine in the opening meet for the Inaugural team last Saturday afternoon at home.
  • Buffalo State's best showing came in the Tumbling Event, having just 4.05 points of deductions in five heats.
  • The open pyramid heat of the Pyramid Event, topped by Carmela Capizzi (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) earned a score of 8.40, the best heat score of the meet for the Bengals.
  • Adrienne Gardner (Fairfield, CA/St. Patrick-St. Vincent) and Lucy Ingro (Newfane, NY/Newfane) kicked off the Tumbling Event with the first heat victory in program history, as Ingro and Gardner scored 7.900 points in the duo pass heat to edge out Trine's score of 7.800.
THE DEAL ON THE REAL NOTRE DAME
  • Notre Dame College comes into the weekend with a 1-2 overall record, recording a 1-1 record in a trio meet with a victory over West Virginia State and a defeat to West Liberty.
  • The Falcons' best heat was the toss heat of the Compulsory Event, scoring 9.45 points
  • For the meet, Notre Dame College scored 231.895 points, and had scored 233.685 earlier in the season against Frostburg State.
