MEQUON, WI - The Buffalo State acrobatics and tumbling team wrapped up its inaugural season of team competition on Saturday evening at the NCATA Division III Tournament, falling in a tri-meet to East Texas Baptist and Stevenson by a final score of 227.665-209.550-127.450.

THE RUNDOWN

• East Texas Baptist set the tone by jumping out to a five-point edge over Stevenson, and eight-point lead over the Bengals after the opening event.
• Buffalo State set a new program record in the pyramid heat with a mark of 9.225, surpassing the record that had been set yesterday.
• The Bengals recorded two scores of over 8.0 in the acro event, and suffered just 3.25 points of deductions.
• Buffalo State had the fewest deductions of any of the three teams in the pyramid event but still trailed by five points to the Mustangs and 11 points to the Tigers at halftime.
• The open heat was the best mark for Buffalo State in the pyramid event for the Bengals, with Carmella Capizzi (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East), Caitlin Wilhite (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster), Adrienne Gardner (Fairfield, CA/St. Patrick-St. Vincent), Emma Doherty (Akron, NY/Akron), Codie Ryan (Owings, MD/Northern), and Guinevere Brickman (Climax, NY/Greenville) scoring 8.725 points.
• The Bengals fell behind by a few more points out of the intermission in the toss event.

• Buffalo State had its highest score of the tumbling event in the open pass, competed by Lucy Ingro (Newfane, NY/Newfane), and scoring 8.225 points.
• The other two teams earned a big cushion in the team event, while the Bengals did not compete.
