Cross Country Shines At SUNYAC Championships

PLATTSBURGH, NY – The Buffalo State men's and women's cross country teams had strong showings at SUNYAC Championships where the men finished fourth overall and the women finished ninth.
 
THE BENGAL BREAKDOWN
  • Ricky Curiel (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) finished third in his SUNYAC Championship debut with a time of 26:15 to earn his first career All-SUNYAC honor.
  • Noah Holden (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) and Josh Mayer (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) finished 10th and 15th, respectively also earning All-SUNYAC honors.
  • In addition, Mayer earned the SUNYAC Elite 20 Award while Curiel was inducted into the Cross Country Championship Hall of Fame.
  • Jorja Smith (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) led the women's side with a time of 25:50 while Katelyn Becker (Buffalo, NY/School for Applied Tech) finished shortly after with a time of 26:03.
 
UP NEXT
Buffalo State returns to action on November 15 as they will travel to Rochester for NCAA Regionals.
