BUFFALO, NY – Dakota Carlson (Perrysburg, OH/Biggby) and
Alexa Todd (Owen Sounds, ON/Saugeen Maitland Lightning) of the Buffalo State women's hockey team have been named Bengal Athletes of the Week, presented by UBMD Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
Carlson, a freshman biology major, posted a strong three point weekend for the Bengals tallying two goals and an assist as Buffalo State swept the weekend series against New England College. In Friday's win over the Pilgrims, Carlson tallied a goal on five shots. In Saturday's win, Carlson added the game-winning goal in the third period while also earning an assist. On the year, Carlson has been stellar for the Bengals as she leads the team with 15 points on ten goals and five assists.
Todd, a freshman criminal justice major, had a strong night in goal on Friday against New England College as she made 18 saves to secure her first shutout as a Bengal. On the year, Todd is 4-2-0 in net with 114 saves, a .934 save percentage, and a 1.34 goals against average.
The women's hockey team returns to action January 6 as they will host St. John Fisher at 3:00 pm.
