BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State acrobatics and tumbling team earned a win in their home opener this afternoon with a 184.810-170.125 victory over Calvin University at the Sports Arena.

The Bengal Breakdown
- Buffalo State jumped out to an early lead after the compulsory event as they face just 2.90 points of deduction.
- The Bengals swept all tree heats of the acro event as they posted their highest score in the five-element of 8.65 with the team of Jackie Heyden (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island), Bri Rohrer (Cheektowaga, NY/Depew), Caitlin Wilhite (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster), Devyn Volpe (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster), and Lucy Ingro (Newfane, NY/Newfane).
- Buffalo State then went on to score 26.10 points in the pyramid event to close out the first half as they faced just 1.60 points of deduction.
- Coming out of the break, the Bengals outscored Calvin 24.00-21.00 in the toss event.
- In the tumbling event, the trio pass team of Ingro, Volpe, and Nijha Brown (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) earned a score of 5.40 to win the heat.
- The Bengals closed out the meet scoring 55.66 in the team event to bring their meet total to a program-record mark of 184.810.
