BUFFALO, NY – Mya Hurley (Williamsville, NY/Amherst) and Izzy Pezdek (Lancaster, NY/Grand Island) take home SUNYAC Player and Pitcher of the Week honors for their respective performances this past week.
Hurley delivered at the plate across seven games, finishing the week with a .450 batting average and an impressive .800 slugging percentage. The junior outfielder collected hits in six of Buffalo State's seven games, including three multi-hit efforts. She totaled four doubles, a home run, five RBI, and six runs scored while helping the Bengals' offense during a critical stretch of SUNYAC play.
Pezdek continued her dominant run, going 3-1 with a 0.64 ERA across 22.0 innings. The sophomore right-hander struck out 18 batters and allowed just a 0.91 WHIP as she helped Buffalo State improve to 6-0 in SUNYAC action. Her best outing came in a relief appearance against Plattsburgh, where she threw 6.1 innings, allowing just three hits while striking out five. Pezdek was just as dangerous at the plate, hitting .333 with 2 home runs, 2 doubles, and 6 RBI's, showcasing her all-around value to the Bengals' success.
