BUFFALO, NY – Amya Moore (Hudson, NY/Hudson) of the Buffalo State women's basketball team and
Remi Skvorc (Helsinki, Finland/Sotogrande International) of the Buffalo State men's basketball team have been named Bengal Athletes of the Week, presented by UBMD Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
Moore, a sophomore psychology major, posted a pair of impressive performances for Buffalo State against Morrisville and Fredonia. In their win over the Mustangs, Moore led the Bengals with a double-double performance with 18 points and 13 rebounds with an assist, a steal, and was 8-12 (67%) from the field. In the effort against Fredonia, Moore led the Buffalo State offense again with 10 points, nine rebounds, and a pair of steals.
Skvorc, a junior business major, led the Bengals in their contests with Morrisville and Fredonia. Against the Mustangs, Skvorc led the team with 13 points, four rebounds, and two steals. In Friday's win over the Blue Devils, Skvorc led the Buffalo State offense again with 11 points while shooting 3-4 (75%) from three-point range.
The men's and women's basketball teams return to action last this evening as they will travel to Cortland for another SUNYAC matchup.
