Mariah Allen (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) of the Buffalo State acrobatics & tumbling team have been named Bengal Athletes of the Week, presented by UBMD Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
Bowman, a sophomore business major, had a strong weekend for the Bengals as the men's volleyball team went 5-0 on the week including a win over #10 Baldwin Wallace. Bowman totaled 51 kills with seven services aces, 28 digs, and a block. His best showing came in Buffalo State's four-set win over Thiel where he tallied a career-high 18 kills with a .313 hitting percentage.
The men's volleyball team returns to action tomorrow night as the Bengals will host Hilbert for an AMCC matchups at 7:00 pm.
Allen, a freshman early childhood education major, had a strong showing in her collegiate debut on Sunday in Buffalo State's season opener at Canisius. Allen competed in 12 heats for the Bengals including the compulsory toss and five-element heats that each tied program records. She was also a key piece in the pyramid and tumbling events for Bengals.
The acrobatics & tumbling team returns to action on Saturday with a road tri-match against #9 Gannon and Trine.
