ALFRED, NY – The Buffalo State swimming and diving team was defeated by Alfred State in their first dual of the season. The men dropped a 181-88 decision and the women fell 145-95.

NOTABLES
- Matt Banks (Lancaster, NY/St. Joe's), James Purpura (Cheektowaga, NY/Cleveland Hill), Brandon Garcia (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West) and Ryan Duell (Brockport, NY/Brockport) combined for a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
- Branden Rivers (Lockport, NY/Lockport) finished first in the 1-meter diving with a score of 256.30.
- Maggie Parobek (Amherst, NY/Amherst) was a double-winner, finishing first in the 1000-yard freestyle and 200-yard breaststroke, ahead of teammates Maggie Tripp (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) and Lindsay DeBoth, who finished second in the events. Parobek added a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.
- Hannah Heil (Medina, NY/Medina) won the 50-yard freestyle and finished second in both the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle.
- Zach Nau (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) and Colby Riexinger (Brockport, NY/Brockport) were the top two finishers in the 200-yard IM. Nau also took second in the 200-yard backstroke while Riexinger finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke.
- Wesley Van (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) had a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly.
- Brianna Garcia (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West) was second in the 500-yard freestyle
