BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Buffalo State women's basketball program will look to pile up two wins this weekend as they play host to the Oneonta Red Dragons on Saturday, and the New Paltz Hawks on Sunday.
The Bengals will host Oneonta on Saturday, with tip-off beginning at 2 p.m. The Bengals will then finish the weekend with a Sunday matchup against New Paltz at noon.

Last Week In Review
The Bengals (9-8, 6-5 SUNYAC) were unable to come out victorious in their last outing on Tuesday, losing 57-52 at Geneseo.
Katie Villarini (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg)was the leading scorer for Buffalo State with a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double.
Riley Domin (Getzville, N.Y./Williamsville South) was the other player in double digit figures with 11 points, knocking down three 3-point shots.
Brianna Smith (Oakfield, N.Y./Oakfield-Alabama) finished with six points, two rebounds, an assist, and a block. Villarini and
Heaven Rollek (Springville, N.Y./Springville-Griffith) led the team in steals with three each.
Grace Carey (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) was able to work efficiently, totaling seven points and a rebound in 19 minutes of action.
Eye on the Bengals
- Buffalo State enters the weekend in fifth place in the SUNYAC standings with a 6-5 record, with the same amount of losses as fourth-place Oneonta and third-place Geneseo. The Bengals have two extra games to make up on Geneseo, and one on Oneonta.
- Buffalo State is second in the SUNYAC offensively, averaging 63.5 points per game. They are the league's leading rebounding team, bringing down 45.8 rebounds per contest. Defensively, the Bengals allow teams to shoot just 23.1 percent from beyond the arc, good for second in the conference.
- Villarini leads the conference in several categories, including points per game (23.0), assists per game (5.1), free throws made (100), and double doubles (seven). Among national leaders, the senior is fifth in scoring and free throws made, sixth in minutes played per game (38.6), and 22nd in assists per game.

A Look Into The Dragon's Lair
- Oneonta is 10-9 overall and 7-5 in SUNYAC play after falling to Cortland 77-65 on Saturday. Nadia Brown was the high scorer with 21 for the Red Dragons.
- Molly Stephens is another player to watch, as she tallied 16 points and four rebounds of her own in the same game
- Olivia Dobrovosky certainly knows how to crash the boards, as she hauled in 14 rebounds in the losing effort.
A Bird's Eye View of the Hawks
- New Paltz is 13-5 overall and 9-3 in the conference after coming out on top in a close battle at Oswego State, 62-57. Lexi Van Vorst led the way with 14 points in the win.
- The other double digit scorer was Brianna Fitzgerald with 11 points and four rebounds.
- Cassidy Deaver contributed a balanced attack of her own, with seven points and six rebounds.
Historical Notes
- Oneonta holds a 34-20 all-time record against Buffalo State, with the series beginning in 1971. The Red Dragons defeated the Bengals by a 71-67 margin back on Jan. 14.
- The all-time series against New Paltz has the Bengals holding a 27-25 all-time edge, with Sunday's game marking the 53rd all-time meeting. The Hawks have won the last 14 games, including a 60-35 decision on Jan. 13. The Bengals won 19 in a row against New Paltz between 1991-2004.
