Women's Swimming Finish Fifth, Break Record To Open SUNYAC Championships

BUFFALO, NY – The 200 medley relay team of Claire Kasinski (Lancaster, NY/St. Mary's), Maggie Bilquin (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls), Maggie Parobek (Amherst, NY/Amherst), and Hannah Heil (Medina, NY/Medina) opened the SUNYAC Swimming and Diving Championships with a fifth place finish and a school record time of 1:52.49.
 
WEDNESDAY RESULTS
 
For The Bengal Women:
  • The relay broke the previous school mark by nearly a full second, racing to a strong finish.
  • Bilquin teamed up with Julia Purpura (Buffalo, NY/Cleveland Hill), Clare Hassett (Harleysville, NY/Souderton Area), and Sonya Strong (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale) to finish eighth in the 800 free relay with a time of 8:41.28.
 
UP NEXT
  • Tomorrow will be the first day with individual events as Thursday will see the 200 IM, 500 free, 50 free, and 200 free relay.
