NORTHBOROUGH, MA - The Buffalo State women's lacrosse team was recognized today as one of 325 collegiate women's lacrosse teams to be named as a 2024 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad. In addition, juniors
Lily Conroy (Sanborn, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) and
Lauren Rinow (Lakeview, NY/Frontier) were recognized on the Division III Academic Honor Roll.
In order to qualify for this prestigious honor, teams must have posted a combined GPA of 3.2 or higher for the 2023-24 academic year. For the individual honors, student-athletes must have reached junior status academically and athletically and have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Head Coach
Ashley Holdridge's squad posted a 3.15 cumulative GPA in the Fall 2023 semester, with eight student-athletes earning selection to the Dean's List. The Bengals bettered their academic prowess in the Spring 2024 semester, finishing with a 3.27 GPA and 12 Dean's List honorees. Thirteen student-athletes were named to the State University of New York (SUNYAC) Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for maintaining a 3.30 GPA for the academic year.
Conroy, a health & wellness major, has a 3.81 cumulative GPA through six semesters, including Dean's List honors in every semester. She was also a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Selection this year. In 2024, Conroy was a mainstay in the Buffalo State defense, playing in 14 games with 13 starts. She picked up five ground balls and caused seven turnovers for the season. For her career, Conroy has started 41 of a possible 45 games in three years.
Rinow, majoring in computer information systems, holds a 3.72 cumulative GPA and three Dean's List honors. The midfielder was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team in 2023. This season, Rinow played in all 15 games with 14 starts. The junior was fourth on the team with 27 points, scoring 20 goals and adding seven assists, while also picking up 22 ground balls, causing 12 turnovers, and grabbing 12 draw controls.
