Men's Volleyball Ranked For First Time In Program History

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's volleyball team currently sits #16 in the national rankings after their first weekend of action of the 2026 season. This is also the first team the men's volleyball team has been ranked in program history.
 
The Bengals opened the season with a 4-0 start at the Hobart Tournament which featured wins over #20 Misericordia and #16 Hobart. Buffalo State also picked up a pair of three-set sweeps over Hartwick and Russell Sage for their best start to a season in program history. Gavin Wilczewski (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora) and Kaden Strong (Buffalo, NY/West Seneca East) led the way for Buffalo State as they each earned AMCC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
 
Buffalo State returns to action this weekend as they will battle Potsdam and Regis College.
