Nyla Wilson-Epps and Emilee Josker Named Bengal Athletes Of The Week

BUFFALO, NY – Nyla Wilson-Epps (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry) of the Buffalo State track & field team and Emilee Josker (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) of the Buffalo State women's lacrosse team have been named Bengal Athletes of the Week, presented by UBMD Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
 
Wilson-Epps, a freshman health & wellness major, shined for Buffalo State setting two program records at the Geneseo Invite over the weekend. She finished third in the hammer throw at 48.48 meters and won the discus throw at 41.27 meters. The hammer throw record was previously held by Chelia Diao (43.64 meters) since 2017 and the discus throw record has been held by Kelly Tooley (37.95 meters) since 2010. She currently ranks first in the SUNYAC in the discus and fourth in the hammer throw.

The outdoor track & field team returns to action this weekend where some of the team will head to the Bucknell Invite while others will head to the Brockport Invite.

Josker, a senior exceptional education major, helped lead the Bengals to a dominate 21-5 SUNYAC win over Potsdam on Friday. Josker tallied nine points with five goals and four assists. She also contributed a caused turnover and eight draw controls. On the year, Josker sits second on the team in goals (39), assists (19), points (58), and caused turnovers (14).

The women's lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday as they will travel to Oswego for a road SUNYAC matchup.
