-Cal was All SUNYAC as well as All New York State for three years. 

-Became BSC first two-time All American in soccer in 1969 and 1971.
 
-Led the 1970 team to a 13-0-2 record and the NCAA tournament
1970 team became ranked 7th nationally overall.
 
-Kern recorded 15 career shutouts during his time with Buffalo State College.
