1954-1958 

-Joseph Merlo played four years on the basketball team at Buffalo State.
 
-He was named All- American and All-WNY as a junior and senior with the college.
 
-He averaged 16.2ppg, 18.0ppg, 16.8ppg, and 11.5ppg in his four years.
 
-Merlo set a record 30 straight free throws as a junior.
 
-He became the first Buffalo State player to score over 1,000 points.
