-Richard served as the men’s swimming and diving coach for 12 seasons, posting a record of 116-38. 

-He mentored 49 swimmers that won SUNYAC Championships and coached 31 All-Americans. 

-His teams won six consecutive New York State Championships and five SUNYAC titles from 1971-1975.
